Hello, my name is Benedict. Unfortunately, my owner went into assisted living and couldn't bring me with. The other members of the family wanted nothing to do with me and kept me in a small cage until rescue was found. Thankfully, SFAAR had room for me and I was brought to my foster home.

I am a sweet boy once I learn to trust you. I was a bit neglected in my life so I'm not always sure if people are good or bad. I'm learning that there are nice humans in the world though and I do enjoy being pet.

Like some cats, I have a switch that can turn on when I've had enough petting and need to be left alone. I will need a cat savvy owner to understand when I have enough attention and may need my alone time.

While in my foster home I was diagnosed with Inflamatory Bowel Disease. I am now on a special diet and am doing great. I was also diagnosed with dry FIP (feline infectious peritonitis - a viral disease) and have undergoing treatment for that. I am almost done with treatment and the vet hopes that when I am done, my IBD symptoms will lessen. That's good news!

I am a special boy that needs a special family to help me experience a second chance at a forever home in my golden years.
