Mikayla

We adopted Mikayla - renamed Daisy - from Petsmart. She is doing just great! Such a great cat. My daughter and I must have looked at 50 kittens at 4 shelters, but when we saw Mikayla, we knew she was the one for us. She is getting used to our 19 year old cat, and he is getting used to her. Our old cat is generally very loving and used to having another cat around, so I expect they will be best friends soon. She if very sweet and playful, but likes to be pet and held. Thank you. The Otto's

Canton

I adopted "Canton," now "Striker" on the 12th of February 2010 from the PetSmart in Maplewood. He is such a great addition to our family. He has an older brother "Lake" and they get along famously. Lake was missing and 3 days after Striker joined our family Lake came home. It's been such a blessing to have them both. They sleep and play together and at night both have their side of the bed to sleep on. I took this photo of Striker sleeping with his Easter Bunny on the couch. Thank you for Striker. Jen

Kale

Hi, My name is Rosemary. I adopted a 5-month-old kitten from you through the Maplewood PetsMart on Sept. 24, 2009. He came to us as Kale, but we renamed him Jet. A number of weeks ago I had a delightful conversation with a volunteer named Bonnie, who had called to check in with us on our adoptee. I couldn't say enough about how much we love our Jet (or "Jetti"). I hadn't been looking for another kitty, because we already have two "girls," Sally and Abby, both 11. But when my daughter and I cast our eyes on Jet and had a little "chat" with him, I was bewitched! Oh my goodness! He was clearly so smart and unlawfully charming! So the next day was adoption day, and we've been having a blast with him ever since! He's a little over 10 pounds now, and he's very handsome. He's very lovey too - frequently asking to be picked up and held. And he's a champion purr-er! Super smart and very well-mannered. Full of spunk and very athletic. I've attached a couple of pictures that we took around Christmas time - one of him "chillin' " with Sally, and the other of him wearing the smart new collar he got for Christmas. Isn't he a gorgeous boy! (And he shares a birthday, April 17th, with my son who's soon to turn 16!!) My daughter has since gone to Costa Rica until June. So we recorded Jet playing one of his favorite games in the hallway with one of those fuzzy, sparkly balls, and we put it on YouTube so she could see him. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGh-03wzkh4. (Pardon our mess ... house in the middle of several painting projects ... ). I hope you enjoy this update. We've always wished we could have seen him as a real little kitten, so if his foster mom has any pics of just him or him with any siblings/Mom (Eloise), we'd love to have copies! Thank you for such a wonderful, precious kitty! Feel free to share this happy story! We are smitten! Sincerely yours, Rosemary

Viva

In September of last year we adopted our pup Viva (who now goes by "M.J.") from your rescue agency. I wanted to write something to express our appreciation to your agency for your mission and dedication to animals that truly need it the most. Adopting a dog from St. Francis was a great experience as you made the process positive and uncomplicated. After losing our dog Crocker to cancer, who we only had for 5 months, you were supportive in our need to adopt another animal. M.J. is a delight, who's antics constantly challenge :-) and amuse us. She has added such a spark to our household who we honestly could not survive the cold, harsh winters of Minnesota without her. She is so enthusiastic about being outside and playing in the snow, that she has actually got us to enjoy walking in the cold! She is a wonderful 8 month old puppy. After adopting M.J. I was fortunate enough to obtain a job as a dog trainer, which made the journey even more wonderful, rewarding and educational! She has recently learned how to jump through a hula hoop as well as play a Little Tikes piano. She is a fine musician! M.J. will soon enroll in Canine Good Citizen classes and we are proud to have such a wonderful, affectionate and intelligent dog, who continues to make us laugh and appreciate life to the fullest. Soon we are thinking of adopting a second dog into our family and we will certainly seek out St. Francis to hopefully find the "perfect" match. Thanks for all your help! Sincerely, Kathy Smith and Ed Doberstein

Tamlyn

We adopted Tamlyn in early December from the Maplewood PetSmart. Her name is now Hazel, and she is doing great. We love having her energy and playfulness in our home. She is a great match for both of our other cats, and spends most of her time cuddling and playing with them. She has been to the vet and we had her microchipped.
